Issues with mechanisms remaining powered after disconnecting/turning off generator

This has mainly been happening with the Mechanical Crafter, where I'll disconnect it or turn off the power source but it, as well as anything else connected to it, will continue running until I take the entire Crafter down. It will sometimes say it's overstressed when it's disconnected, and I'm pretty sure reconnecting it to the generator doubles the stress impact it has (each Crafter says it's only producing 40 su, but every time it bugs and gets reconnected to the system, the system is under more stress than it was prior, despite me not attaching any new mechanisms.)

Now my entire system is trying to stay powered (and is overstressed) despite my windmill not working. My windmill is made up of sails attached to glued trapdoors and logs and was working previously. But now every time I try turning it on, it tells me that not enough sails are connected, despite having 96, and breaks the Windmill Bearing and deletes all of my glue. I don't know if this is related, but it wasn't an issue until my entire system bugged.

I'm playing the most recent version of Create for 1.16.5, with some other mods that don't seem to conflict with Create: Advanced Chimneys, Charm, Quark, Inspirations, Hats, Macaw's Bridges, Traveler's Backpack, Treemendous, JEI, iChun Utilities, AutoRegLib, Endertech, Mantle, and Optifine.
