I've been always thinking that there are enough recipes for the mechanical press. so, I'd like to suggest a small feature. the compactors can be used to 'compact' things. (easier to understand if you think they are the opposite of crushing wheels) so, for example, if you put 9 iron in the input of the machine(you can use funnels instead), it will output a iron block. so, this machine compacts items into blocks(the only irregular compacting recipe is the blaze cake base).

They already can do this, you just need a basin underneath the press rather than a belt or depot.

EDIT: actually, I don't know if it works for bars I just assumed it did...so my assumption might be incorrect and would have to double check scratch that, the PR I submitted that was merged a while back involved basins and while I was testing the fix I was compacting gold bars into blocks to test their interaction with funnels, so I KNOW it works for any 3x3 recipe.

my idea was to take away the compacting recipes in the mechanical press, and put them all in to the compactors. if people playing survival don't like this idea, then we can just put them together in a crafting table and make a 2 in 1 machine.
