Mixing Basin Only Mixes First Potion Ingredient When All Supplies Are In The Basin

I have a question about potion brewing with the basin. In 3.1c I was able to put all ingredients in the basin in the correct brewing order and it would mix each ingredient into the potion one at a time, but now in 3.2b, it only brews the first ingredient, then the rest of the items just sit there, meaning I have to wait for the basin to be empty to add another ingredient.

The only ways I have found to cause it to continue mixing are only putting one ingredient in at a time, right clicking the recipe filter slot with an empty hand to start the next ingredient, or adding another ingredient, which only mixes in the new ingredient (unless it can't until another one is, in which case it mixes that one), not the others, then stops again.

Is this new behavior intentional, or is it a bug? Originally I thought it was a bug, but then I saw in the changelogs of 3.2 the sentence "Fixed basin processing running constant recipe lookups while backed up" and am wondering if this was intentional.

Same. A similar issue happens with Basin/Mechanical Press combination.

The system doesn't automatically check for a new recipe when it finishes previous. For it to notice that Basin has ingredients for something else it has to be updated.

In addition to the ways you suggested, it also can be done by changing the speed or direction of the Mixer (or Press), and it can be automated using Gearshift and Redstone timer giving out a pulse every second or two. Still, I hope it gets fixed, it doesn't seem an intentional feature.

Thanks for the info about a gearshift, that may actually save something I was building without a complete redesign of the item input system until this is fixed, (unless confirmed to be intentional).
