are they waiting for 1.18 to roll around or are they having trouble with the minecraft copper introduced in minecraft 1.17?

commented

porting takes times, especially with BIG mods such a create, they've updated recently because create above and beyond probs exposed important glitches to be fixed

commented

These things take time, unexpected issues pop up, and if the current main release has bugs why would you not fix them? It'll be out when it's out, complaining won't make it come any faster.

commented

Because porting takes time, believe it or not.

i know the mod is big but multiple complicated mods alredy updated so i can only assume they have a problem, also if they wereworking on porting why we still have 1.16.5 minor feature updates

commented

im not relly complaining i just asking why, everyone knows things come up but why would they add to the 1.16.5 they added the toolbox noit long ago, and the answer for why would you not fix them, because everything will break again when its updated to the knew version thats just how programming works

commented

They say, 1.16.5 us a wonderful place for modding... and I think create is more about fun than finishing things in time and updating super fast, you can read that here: https://github.com/Creators-of-Create/Create/wiki/dev.status

"and I think create is more about fun than finishing things in time and updating super fast," while i agree that updating super fast is not ideal in any way, its been almost 6 months due to 1.17 release and we are alredy getting 1.18 which and its not fun to be always a version behind and i have to mention that i think most people are trhilled to the new caves which will make mining much more fun

commented

No one really cares about 1.17, it added like 5 things total, so there isn't much incentive to push for a port asap

commented

first off how dare you, and 1.17 did all the 1.18 backbone and its still possible via datapacks and mods 1.17 is able to increse world height and theres many mnods that alredy did their on spin on cave update by their own, and raw ores makes much easier to get materials
also almost half a year aint asap

commented

The 1.17 version works and you can play it by compiling the 1.17 branch.

commented

Most major mods are waiting until 1.18. But thanks for being impatient and entitled.

Well, where is your PR updating it to 1.17.1 if it's taking to long? If you want it, help do it.

jesus fucking crist i know create is a big mod and for mr KingLemming there, i asked if they were waiting for 1.18 but i see you didt read the start of the post, i was just asking if there was a problem in porting because by some mod standarts it was taking a while, and people come at me with torches and pitchforks.

thx for @PepperCode1 that actually helped insted of shitting on me.

commented

You asked if there was a problem with literally the easiest obstacle to overcome. The introduction of copper by vanilla is nothing. That's a 30 min change, tops. Most big mods are waiting, and have said as much. So that IS the standard. And by that standard, Create is right on time.

i think you didnt noticed THE QUESTION MARK and THE FIRST PART of the comment were i litterally said "are they waiting for 1.18 to roll around", i put copper as a example maybe its something to do with world generation idk, maybe its something internal, THATS WHY IM ASKING i just wanted to know that if they wanted to put 1.17, what would take so long to fix cause 1.27 overall didt change much even under the roof.

1.17 was actually quite a large internal refactoring update with changes mainly to rendering.

The main reasons a release hasn't been made yet, even though the code is functional, is that bugs need to be fixed and features need to be added so that players can have the best experience. However, the code only became functional about two weeks ago because we had to wait for all of our dependencies to update (Forge, Registrate, Flywheel).
