Game crashes upon creating a train

Describe the Bug
Whenever I try to create a train the game crashes on both 1.17 and 1.18
Reproduction Steps
1.Make some rails
2.place a assembler
3.put a chasi on it
4. place a cart at the assembler
5. activate
...

The game saves the world and then crashes

Try using the command
/flywheel backend off. Does the crash still occur?
No, the game won't crash with this command, you can't see what's on the contraption tho.
I and all of my friends have the same issue.
What happens to me is:
- I make a contraption and activate it.
- Everything works and I can see the contraption normally but the minecart is blurry.
- When I pick it up with a wrench and place it on a normal rail without an assembler my game saves and crashes. I won't be able to load back into the world.
I can place the contraption from my inventory back in an assembler without any problems.
I was also able to duplicate the contraption and its contents when I activated the assembler. I wasn't able to replicate this glitch.
Edit: We found out that the game only crashes when you place the minecart contraption under y=0
Seems related to #2421.
