Contraptions lowered on a rope merge into the bedrock instead of stopping

Describe the Bug
When lowing my mining rig it will not stop at the bedrock bug instead continue further for at least 2 blocks and then merge with the bedrock, losing lots of parts in the process
Reproduction Steps
- Build contraption with drills on the bottom
- Lower it on a rope
- Wait until it hits bedrock
Expected Result
It stops 1 block above bedrock
