(1.16.5)Contraption disappears when rotated as part of a gantry shaft contraption

Describe the Bug

While creating a tree farm in a stream today I came across an issue where as a mechanical bearing attached to a gantry carriage was rotated, the contraption attached to the bearing would disappear until the rotation had completed.

I tried this later with a slightly simpler contraption and it appears to happen when the gantry shaft is given a redstone signal when not fully stopped (or possibly just when not fully inside a single block). In this simpler contraption when the redstone signal was removed from the gantry shaft the contraption attached to the mechanical bearing reappeared, but the bearing was no longer attached to the gantry carriage.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Place a gantry shaft and carriage (I placed both horizontally in this setup)
  2. Glue a mechanical bearing to the top of the carriage with a block on top (so rotation can be transferred when the gantry shaft is powered)
  3. Rotate the gantry shaft
  4. While the carriage is in motion, apply a redstone signal to the gantry shaft
    ...

Expected Result

To see the block attached to the mechanical bearing rotating
