Cart Assembler Broken 1.17.1

Describe the Bug
the bug is that when you place down a cart assembler, put some sort of cart in it, connect any blocks to it, and then activate it with some sort of redstone power source it crashes the game
Reproduction Steps
Place rail and cart assembler
Place cart in the cart assembler and attach some blocks to the cart assembler
Activate it with a redstone power source
Minecraft go die
Expected Result
Actions can be performed normally

Additional Context
I am having the same issue, even with just the create mod active, cart assemblers crash when activated.
Also, potentially related other blocks that create these multiblock entities also crash the game.
This issue has been marked as stale because it has been inactive for 3 weeks. It will be closed if it remains inactive for another 3 weeks.
