Connected gantry runs out of memory

Describe the Bug

Running connected gantries causes minecraft to run out of memory

Reproduction Steps

  1. Set up the gantries as shown in the screenshot section.
  2. Power the setup using creative motor so it runs along the axis of the motor.
  3. When the running gantry hits either end, use the gearshift to reverse its direction so it runs again.
  4. Repeat for a few minutes, and the memory lower bound can be seen increasing in the F3 debug screen.
  5. Stop running the gantry by dismantling the creative motor, the memory usage lower bound doesn't decrease.
  6. Dismantle the entire setup, memory lower bound still doesn't decrease.
  7. If the gantries are kept running, memory usage will slowly increase until minecraft stops working and shows the "out of memory" screen

Expected Result

The gantry setup described in the screenshot section should be able to run indefinitely without making minecraft run out of memory.

Screenshots and Videos

gantry1

The setup consists of two gantries, each 8 blocks long, connected by a gantry carriage. The lower gantry is powered by a creative motor and its rotation can be reversed using the gearbox and lever. Since the upper gantry is connected to the carriage of the lower gantry, the upper gantry travels along with the carriage when the lower gantry is spinning.
