Additional Context

I was making vats for my liquids and used Create to mimic stirring liquid but was disappointed to find out I could only place a couple of liquids in the world.

Limiting it to only being placed via mechanical pumps would solve that issue. Even encourages to use Create to place the liquid instead of manually with buckets

Problem with placing milk.

It would become very annoying when drinking milk, you would often place it instead of drinking it. The same frustration as eating berries except it's worse.

Create also doesn't hope to change vanilla behaviour since it may cause issues with other mods.

I completely agree with everything you just said

Or maybe either:
1: changing buckets to place on left click and drink on right click (this would make for very funny moments involving lava)
2: adding bottles of every liquid which would be drinkable instead of using buckets (probably better as a separate mod)
