Describe the Suggestion

Provide some way to lock the frequency slots and maybe sender/receiver state of the redstone link to prevent messing up complex contraptions by putting e.g. your tool into one of the slots. This is not meant for tamper-proofing, but to reduce the chance of accidents. (I guess similar concerns apply to all kinds of filter or recipe slots for e.g. funnels or processing components, the delay settings of repeaters, etc.)

I could imagine using the wrench on the redstone link as a way to toggle the locked state, preventing interactions with the frequency slots and sneak interaction with the block itself from actually changing the block's configuration. I'm not quite sure how that could translate to blocks that could be rotated by the wrench, but maybe in those cases it could be restricted to interacting with the filter or recipe slot.

Additional Context

While there are mods that allow claiming chunks to prevent others from changing things, these mods are more about tamper-proofing than preventing your own clumsiness, and they are not very specific, usually working on the granularity of entire chunks.
