Superglue is glueing through blocks

Describe the Bug
When I superglue a linear chassis to the bottom of a chain, move them as a contraption until they come to a stop against some blocks, and then start moving them again it treat the ~5-7 blocks under the chassis as if I glued them together. Same happens on the top, but not the sides. It happens with any blocks not just chain and chassis, I just used them as examples for readability.
Reproduction Steps
- set up a pulley with a gearshift ~15 blocks above the ground
- place a chassis under the pulley
- glue a block to the bottom of the chassis
- leaving a gap of at least one block make a pillar of random movable blocks
- use the pulley to move the contraption down and then back up
...
Expected Result
I expected the contraption to move between stops without picking up, or losing, any blocks

Additional Context
I can't reliably recreate it grabbing blocks above it if I glue it from the bottom up, but that might be becuase
might be because I can't reliably get the thing to move up, does work on mechanical bearing contraptions as well.
that last part got cut off sorry
Are you sure you didn't accidentally make that chassis sticky on the bottom? Linear chassis can "glue" a line of blocks in front of it instead of just one block the superglue can glue. You can configure the range by scrolling with a wrench. Please confirm that not being the issue here, e.g. by doublechecking the bottom side of your chassis or replacing the chassis with some regular block that doesn't have special treatment on contraption assembly structure.
