Powered Rail Assembler Won't Maintain Cart's Original Speed

Hey all,

When pondering the assembler, the second part of the last scene shows that a cart contraption can be stopped with an assembler on a powered or controller rail. Then, once powered, it will continue forward. In my own experiments, I can get this to work well with a controller rail assembler. However, when I try it using a powered rail assembler, the cart will stop, but won't continue to move forward even after the rail is powered.

While I could just use a controller rail for this, I was hoping to make a single rail train that could move back and forth and stop at multiple points. Since the controller rail only pushes the cart in a single direction, it won't work for what I'm trying to accomplish. I was hoping that the powered rail assembler would be able to continue the cart's initial velocity when powered, as it seems to in the assembler's last pondering scene.

Feel free to let me know of any further information I need to provide, or if I'm just not understanding this correctly.

Thanks!

EDIT: I'm playing on Create v0.4.1 in Minecraft 1.18.2.
