Suggestion: don't copy buildings, create schemes

What I mean by this is that there will be a way for others to temporarily join a controlled kind of Creative Mode and be able to place any block they want as holograms. The output will be a scheme that then can be crafted into Recipe Book and players can gather building materials based on that.

Also an ability to copy Recipe Books would be nice.

My usecase scenario would be something like this:

Me and my friends on our 10-player server decide to build a big city hall for our city. We then go offline and look for inspirations. Then the next day we come to the server and find a place. We (which have studied architecture and have obsession in building design) want to make it look perfect. We could build the building the old way and use trial and error to see what could work best for us, or alternatively we can all temporarily go to something like a creative mod which allows us to place blocks (and don't steal tools and ores hopefully**) together and collaborate on a single shared hologram***. Then when we're happy we decide to build it. We make a schematic out of it and put it inside Schematicannon and each get a recipe book. We then mine for items and put it inside some chests and fire up the Schematicannon to build our city hall.

================================

** It could be so that when we leave a 'creative'-like mode, all of our inventory gets swept and we go back to our previous inventory.

*** It shouldn't be necessarily like 'creative' mode. There could be a special workbench that when we all go close to it and right click on it, we all see a 3D model in a light/dark background (like the interface of Blockbench software). We then pick and place blocks over there, and we could just see each others' cursor to collaborate.

Also please consider separating Curiosity module from the mechanical parts of the Create mod.

Thanks for the input.
Working together to build something is literally what Minecraft is for, if building feels too slow, you can always load in other mods to help you out. This whole layer in-between for "controlled building" just doesn't feel right- just build it! Have some fun =)

Thanks for your suggestion!
Sadly, a "controlled kind of Creative Mode" comes with a whole bunch of design and exploitation problems.

What are you trying to achieve with this? If you're building the structure anyway, might as well build it physically the first time around. What I can promise is that there will be more building tools for survival mode once I start expanding Create Curiosities.

If you want to prepare the schematic in Creative, that's totally possible! The Schematic files on your client carry over across worlds and can even be shared among your friends.

Yeah you're right, now that I think about it it's like making a game inside a game 🤔

Some of the tools in the mod give the player god-power like abilities. I hope you are on to something good, but if it doesn't turn out good I might start learning programming just to remove some of the recipes for survival players on my server. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Please don't make me do this though! I won't ditch or switch this mod. I really love it, that's why I'm scared of its future

I see your point, as you have brought it up in many shapes and forms.
Removing the tools in Create is as simple as I explained in #32. For fine-tuning your server's recipes, I suggest checking out how to create data-packs.
Thanks for respecting the decisions being made for the mod, keep in mind it's been only a couple of months, therefore not everything has quite fallen into place yet.

Thanks, I'll have a look on how to create data-packs. What do you think about Crafting Tweaks mod? Which one is better?🤔
