[MC 1.14.4 - Create 0.2.3] Rotation power values not getting updated when network gets split

After removing a few shafts in the middle of my network and effectively splitting it in half, the half that only contains consumers continues running and is even capable of processing items, even though it's disconnected from the power producers. I've tried adding more consumers to the side that is bugged and it continues running just the same, with the new devices being fully operational. Removing parts doesn't fix the problem. Trying to reconnect both networks only breaks the item being placed. Neither going to another dimension nor quitting the game fixes the problem.

I'm playing singleplayer, custom modpack.

Been playing 0.2.4d and keep running into this myself. It's always to do with Encased belts, but I haven't been able to figure out what I'm doing exactly beyond that.

The first few times it happened, I had rotated the belts with a wrench. However, this last time I didn't rotate the belts at all.

In every case, it's just a case of finding the faulty belt, breaking it, and replacing it.

Been playing 0.2.4d, ran into this issue a few times now. The block that was the culprit the last time was a mechanical belt with brass casing on it. Once that block was removed and replaced, everything was updated properly.

I had the same bug recently. For me, breaking the generator on the producing half stopped the consumer part, though placing it again made the consumers start again. The direction of placement did not matter, only the position. I think the initial cause (for me) was some component breaking because of rapid speed changes with the RSC. It seemed like the network did not update properly. For me, even force updating by breaking the producer did not fix it though. It is not an issue of ghost blocks i think, as f3+a or relog did not help.

I had the same experience as LordGrimmauld on a multiplayer server (Create 0.2.3, Kreation modpack 0.8.0). IIRC, the order of operations was:

  • Establish a windmill (powering a series of belts, crushing wheels, etc.) with a large cogwheel attached directly to the machine bearing to increase RPM.
  • Power down the windmill, getting the Overstressed achievement since the machines were now unpowered.
  • Power the windmill again, immediately breaking the large cogwheel attached to the bearing. On further examination the small cogwheel it had been connected to was now turning in the same direction as the machine bearing, causing the large cogwheel to break because of incompatible rotation.
  • Placing blocks between the bearing and the shaft leading to the rest of the network didn't interrupt rotation. Neither did logging off and back in, completely breaking the shaft (leaving the belts and other components), replacing the shaft. I did most of those with the bearing both powered (by lever) and unpowered.
