Describe the Bug

The Train rubberbands all over the place, seemingly jumping forward and backward at ludicrous speeds, sometimes killing passengers on rare occasions.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Construct a train under a 1.18.2 Forge Server
  2. Have various other machines, though none that're concerningly large
  3. Lag, apparently

Expected Result

Extreme amounts of Rubberbanding when Riding the train.

It still happens to me on a server on fabric 1.20.1-0.15.11 (flywheel on instancing).
Rubberbanding and huge fps drops from 80 to 1 at the worst. After a while it stabilise. But this happens frequently, even after it stabilise.
It looks like the game have issues loading the contraptions when they are in the player chunk range.

I have many 'trains' at the same place just circling around

Here's a video of it. This isn't even the worst. This whole video I was driving, just holding S the whole time.

Comparing my modpack to yours to narrow it down, the only overlapping mods are Create(duh), Curios, JEI, PuzzlesLib, ServerTabInfo, SophisticatedBackpacks, SophisticatedCore and spark

I'm experiencing this on the Fabric version as well, in single player. Posting it here since this seems to be happening in both versions. It happens a little when it pulls out, but it's significantly worse when it pulls in, sliding wildly forwards and backwards before settling.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I also get a stupid amount of rendering lack and TPS lag when the train comes to a halt. Like a good 1-5 seconds of terribly low FPS and lag. I think it may have to do with doors, but I could be wrong.

I'd list mods but obviously none of them are cross-platform, so there's no overlap.

Having the same problem, we have create and computercraft on the server, along with some ftb mods.

This issue seems to still be happening in 1.19.2
The train is the only thing rubberbanding in the server, and all of the typical culprits of desync (RAM, CPU, TPS, ping, even server location) have been ruled out.

Also happening to me on my server, It's not as bad on singleplayer. I'm sure its not tps or ping since tps is 20 and my ping is 1 (local network).

I have the same problem in 1.18.2 singleplayer on the newest version of create available. For me its doing that slingshooting back and forth really strong and when I drive like that for just a couple seconds too long my game crashes.
My hardware is:
32 gb ram 3600mhz
Ryzen 9 6900HX
RTX 3070Ti

On my server, the trains used to do that too, for both create forge and create fabric. We solved the issue by increasing the RAM, and then buying a faster SSD. The first problem turned out to just be lag from not enough CPU and memory, but the stuttering was also caused by our old SSD being wonky and sometimes struggling to load chunks. That could be a useful hint.

thought i would add something, if trains go too fast on lower end servers, it can actually crash the server.
