Game crashes when trying to load into/create a world

Describe the Bug
I'm not able to load into or create any worlds within the mod. When creating/loading a world, it will freeze when it gets to "Loading Terrain" and will become unresponsive until OpenJDK gives you the prompt to wait or close the program.
At first I assumed it was because of the amount of ram (which I then raised to 6 in the JVM arguments) but nothing has worked. To avoid further problems I haven't gone above 6 as this would likely cause the system to become unstable. Vanilla Minecraft runs fine with no issues whatsoever.
Reproduction Steps
- Launch Forge 1.18.2 in Minecraft Launcher
- Select world/create new world
- Wait for world to finish loading
- Crashes at "Loading Terrain"
