Server "freezes"

Describe the Bug

Trying to make an elevator with the rope pully. At some points it works fine but sometimes it will "freeze" the server as if all ticks just stop happening. Buttons i push stay in the pushed positions, breaking blocks either leaves ghost blocks or dont drop themselves. When I leave the server, the manager says that there is still someone in the serverleaving it on untill the server times out due to inactivity with no error message. If I stay in the server while its in this state it will "time out."

Running an aternos server with 56 other mods. Could be a compatability issue with some of those mods but this issue seems to only happen when I'm playing around with the redstone link.

Reproduction Steps

I placed redstone links, attatching them to a gearshift which is attached to a pully. Several redstone links are attached to one receiver.

Expected Result

Pressing a button on one of the receiver will sometimes produce the freeze.

I haven't experimented enough to see if there is any way to consistently reproduce this bug on a single button push.

UPDATE***
I have removed the redstone links and the freeze still happens! Its very likely caused by either the rope pully or the gearshift

I'm having a similar issue; when I re-enter an area in the server I'm in (either returning from the Nether or logging in after having been away) I find that sometimes my rotating harvester contraption has stopped in partial rotation and the funnels leading out of my millstones have stopped working and water source blocks that should be flowing down into a space where drills are pointing (to make cobblestone using the piped in lava method) aren't flowing downwards. I've tried replacing the water source blocks and the drills and adjacent pumps and stopping and starting the windmill with no luck, but I did finally manage to get the funnels working again (I broke and re-placed the funnels and emptied the mills they're attached to) and the rotating harvester contraption works fine when stopped and restarted.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Here's a screenshot to show what I mean about the source blocks behaving oddly:

Additional Context
It does seem like things are freezing in place while the chunk is unloaded and not starting up again when loading back in; also the server has been having some odd lag in general so that may be connected
