Describe the Suggestion
Since Create Deco is now behind several versions, I've been thinking--it would make a lot of sense to add blocks similar to the Copper Shingles and Copper Tiles for other metals. Having lots of metallic blocks in various color palettes would be really neat.
To go into more detail, here's what I'd like to see added:
- Shingle and Tile blocks for Iron, Zinc, Brass, and Gold. These would have the same recipe as Copper Shingles and Tiles, and would probably be a palette swap of the Copper Shingles/Tiles blocks.
- Shingle and Tile blocks for Andesite Alloy. These would require a different recipe, since sawing Andesite Alloy itself would create shafts. You could add Andesite Alloy Sheets, I suppose, but I think it would make more sense to add...
- an Andesite Alloy Bricks block (4 crafted from a 2x2 of Andesite Alloy), which can be sawed to produce Shingle and Tile blocks in addition to being a building block in its own right. It could have a more squared-off texture, similar to Rose Quartz Tiles, to help distinguish it from regular Andesite.
- Shingle and Tile blocks for Sturdy Sheets, for people who just want to show off. These would have the fancy golden border that's visible on Sturdy Casing.
- A new "Panel" block type, for all of the above materials, with a smooth, flat, square-bordered texture suitable for the external casing of heavy machinery. Imagine the casing blocks, but entirely made of metal.
- A new "Rivets" block type, for all of the above materials, with a texture punctuated by a set of heavy rivets.
- A new "Corrugated" block type, for all of the above materials, with a very horizontal texture--imagine Create Deco's sheetmetal blocks, perhaps with the top/bottom textures of the Shingle and Tile blocks.
Create already adds a wide variety of excellent stone building blocks, and I think adding some metals to the list would enable a whole new world of potential builds.
