Infinite Fluid Per-Dimenion/Biome Configuration

Describe the Suggestion
Some form of configuration to decide where a given liquid is considered infinite, with the 10,000 block limit.
Personally, I'd like to make Lava only possible to be infinite in the Nether, and Water only infinite in the ocean/rivers.

Additional Context
Someone on the Fabric repo reported a bug where they couldn't make an infinite lava source in the Overworld for whatever reason.
I saw this and started thinking about how cheap that is, to completely sidestep the portal trains and have everything right where you are.
I'd like to configure this for my modpack, to make the Nether lava tank train important, and remove the tiny little pond of water+pump exploit, to encourage transporting more fluids and resources around the place.
I am the one who reported that bug on Fabric version repo. I agree that configurability of infinite sources would be nice, enabling players to choose their own level of hardcoreness and not forcing one particular way of gameplay over another.
Exactly! I love the idea of the portal trains, and just... trains in general, ferrying tanks of liquid to and from places, having outposts and connecting them, but it's not for everyone. This would open some great options.
Did something change here? Was this added, or was it decided to not be a thing?
