Haunting raw chicken should have a chance to spawn a live chicken

It would be a fun easter egg to make it possible to bring chickens, cows, zombies, etc. back to life by haunting their primary drop.

That sounds like it would be fun. Although, a fix to them burning would be to make them resistant to haunting smoke for a few moments.
