Filtered Brass Funnel Ignoring Items

Describe the Bug
Found this while designing an iron farm. Brass funnels without belts will only accept one type of item and ignore the rest entirely if they enter the brass funnel's range at the same time. This commonly happens when processing a material with multiple outputs, causing a pileup. It only works if a filter is applied to the funnel.
Reproduction Steps
- Place a funnel without a belt leading into an inventory
- Apply a filter
- Process a material with multiple outputs that match the filter
- Have the products reach the funnel at about the same time
- One of the materials is accepted, the rest pile up
Expected Result
I expected the brass funnel to accept all items that match the filter, as it has done in previous versions.

I have the exact same problem right now... I wanted to build a compact smelter design but now I have to change it.
Damn, I only realized this when I assumed that the funnel will work on my stone brick factory, wasted over 300+ materials and get this bug.
Okay, I think I found the culprit... it seems that, when removing Valkyrien Skies, the fan-blown items started working correctly. Is it possible that something in the Valkyrien Skies block physics is preventing the funnels from recognizing items being blown by a fan? Can anyone confirm?
oh man, i have that mod installed in my modpack too, is it called Clockwork: Create x valkyrien Skies? i will try removing that, let's see if that fix the issue. thanks!
