Gantry carriages break off the shaft under certain combinations of timings

Describe the Bug

Subordinate gantry carriages sometimes break off of their shaft when either a power state or a movement direction changes. I'm not sure which. This only happens under specific conditions; see reproduction section.

If this design of a 2D gantry array sweeping a grid is inherently fragile, please recommend a more robust architecture.

Reproduction Steps

Unfortunately, this is not easily reproducible. This bug always occurs the first time running the contraption after opening the game. Even if I wait for all surrounding chunks to fully load and fps to stabilize, this still always occurs the first time. After I fix the contraption (see below), it does not ever reoccur during that play session, even if I close the world and reopen it. It will only reoccur upon opening the game.

Once the machine has broken, the machine will continue to break until I replace one of the pulse repeaters. You can see this in the video. I haven't tried replacing other repeaters or wires, but replacing this specific one on the green line always fixes it.

After I fix the machine in this way, it does not break again. Even adjusting the timings of the pulse repeater, I cannot get it to break after having fixed it, nor can I get it to work before having fixed it.

Expected Result

Consistent behavior

Screenshots and Videos

Video shows:

  1. Open game, open world
  2. Showing the superglue structure
  3. Start the contraption; it breaks
  4. Adjust timings; it still breaks
  5. Replace repeater; it works
  6. Restart contraption cycle; it works

I can explain the redstone logic if you think it would be relevant.
