Additional Context
Surely this incompatibility can't be permeant.. for some people, Optifine is a fundamental part of how they play Minecraft.. and to replicate its functionality with other mods like Rubidium, they'd need to faff around and look for a bunch of micro-mods that add all the missing intricate features that Optifine adds.. it's a hassle.
I really hope cooperation between them is possible in the near future; giving up either one in favour of the other feels like choosing which puppy to euthanise..
update to the version of forge made for 1.20, don't use forge for 1.19
Highest forge version for mc1.19.4 is 45.1.16 (2023-07-17)
Lowest forge version for mc1.20 is 46.0.1 (2023-06-08)
Highest optifine version for mc1.19.4 OptiFine HD U I4
Lowest optifine version for mc1.20 OptiFine HD U I5
Is it possible to use forge/optifine from 1.19 to 1.20?
@Duxtorm It seems Create is not compatible with Optifine. I will suggest you to use Rubidium with Oculus to use shaders with Create.

Well yes, that is the obvious path, but it lacks Dynamic Lights.. and the dynamic lights mod is much more resource heavy and requires so much setup if you have lots of mods..
I tried the Magnesium/Rubidium Dynamic Lights mod- it was painfully jank.

What about rubidium & rubidium-extra?
I just found out about rubidium-extra a few days ago because of this Create/Optifine problem so I don't know if rubidium-extra ha dynamic lights (& I installed AllTheMods9 instead).
[EDIT:] ATM9 (for mc1.20.1) has rubidium_extras as well as rubidium & rubidium-extra (ie. '_extras' VS '-extra')
[EDIT2:] If you want the zoom function of Optifine: justzoom_forge (requires konkrete_forge)
