Potato Cannon does not work on the Ender Dragon

Describe the Bug
Projectiles fired by the potato cannon do not seem to affect the Ender Dragon in any way. They simply break upon contact, without doing any damage, like when hitting a block.
Reproduction Steps
- Take potato cannon
- Equip with any ammo
- Fire at ender dragon
Expected Result
The potato cannon would damage the ender dragon

I have the same issue and saw a youtuber have this problem as well the projectiles just splat against the dragon.
