recipe and thoughts

i noticed that the weathered limestone does not have a create recipe, using the fan and water. and is a super pain to make large amounts of them.

Also having to flip between an axe and a pickaxe to broke each block is a pain. it would be nice if there was a tool that just breaks the items easily like a racket. just a name to be different then other mods.

it would also be neat to get a transmission block that allows you to speed up or slow down output from an input shaft. it can be a bit more expensive so that early game you have to tinker with everything to figure it out before getting to slightly easier automation.

also adding different cog materials would be neat addition to make a better progression, i.e. wood cogs can only repeat to a max speed of 3x but upgrade to iron gets you to 5x and gold gets 7x diamond 9x speed, then you need obsidian for 11x (because you got to crank it to a 11) and nether stars to get max speed on the motor. this adds a bit more progressing. but i do feel adding oil or lube would be great addition as well as you can make it so the faster a cog spins the more oil it needs to have in a tank or vat above or below it to represent it sitting in or dripping onto the cogs or they might break. so now you build a crazy massive machine and you have to trouble shoot it and do repairs so that its keeps more interaction and redesigns of there systems. Which would be more like how redstoners have to fix and update there contraptions to make them smoother or smaller or more reliable.

Hi bloodwishartz, and thank you for your suggestions.

  • I missed to add limestone washing, that one will be fixed asap.
  • A multi-use wrench for breaking and rotating create's blocks is almost ready and will be included in the next version, aswell.
  • A "magic-block" solution to gearshifting is debatable, but we'll give it some thought.
  • At the moment I have no interest in adding tiered systems to create contraptions, to many it will be more of a nuisance than exciting progression. With torque in 0.2, scaling your factories becomes resource-heavy enough on its own.
  • Upkeep is an interesting idea, but as above, adds unnecessary complexity to a mod that is already relatively challenging

Cool on what your adding, thanks for the response I figured you got to be busy working on a lot to make this mod great. Also I'm not worried about the transmission ability, it was just neat as an end level ability even past motors. It would be mainly for trying to make a bit more compact and easy to move quarry style effect. However I have been enjoying it a lot and have came up some interesting and fun things.

But I have seen a few issues with the alignment and placing of cogs, like in direwolf20 videos. Cant wait for the fixes update on everything else.

This should be addressed in the new version that went live just now.
Thanks for the Issue and feel free to re-open if need be.
