The benefit of increasing the diversity of capabilities of the deployer should be obvious.
Mechanics should be similar to player placing belts. One deployer selects the first position, then the NBT-modified belt item can be transferred to another deployer to select the second position, which will place the belt.

I was trying to make a factory building factory and deployers not being able to place mechanical belts is an inconvenience.
