Unable to make brass

Describe the Bug
When I put copper ingot and andesite alloy into a heated basin and try to mix it, the whisk does not lower into the basin.
Reproduction Steps
- Place blaze burner
- Place basin on blaze burner
- Place mixer on top
- place cog so that it spins the mixer
- place hand crank on cog
- feed blaze burner
- add copper ingot and andesite alloy to basin
- turn hand crank
Expected Result
I expected the whisk to lower into the basin and make brass.
