It would be better not to update the mod to 1.20.4 but directly to 1.20.6 because now that 1.20.5/6 has been released, players will no longer use 1.20.4, so for the next few months the most used versions will be 1.20.1 and 1.20.6, there is no point in spending time on a version that will no longer be used.

they will probably wait till 1.21 because its less work to do just one update
also, unless you play completely vanilla create, most create mod addons (usually made and worked on by just one person) will probably also be waiting until the next big update, so most people would not ever use a 1.20.6 version
