Problem with redstone links

Describe the Bug
When a redstone link is put on receive mode, its redstone torch cannot be powered by a redstone torch/block, this is bad because now we cannot trigger signals with our linked controller to turn off redstone components, as shown what im trying to do in the image below:
Reproduction Steps
1.place redstone link
2. place redstone torch/block next to it and notice it powers on
3. now try the same but left click with wrench to put it in receive mode, the torch wont be turned on by the restone torch/block
4. connect to linked controller and trigger, it will turn on instead of off
...
