TLDR: Redstone Link overstresses cog system when normal redstone won't.

I was in the process of making an airship in 1.20.1 with a pully as the way to get in and out from the ground. I made the system with a hand crank and it worked fine. I then tried the redstone link on a gearshift so that I could activate it when the pully platform was at the bottom. It immediately broke one of my cogs. I then did it again, this time only removing the link and putting a lever on it. This worked perfectly fine, both up and down. So, I tried to add redstone dust into the gearshift from the link. Again, that immediately started breaking things. This definitely seems like a bug. It's not game breaking and doesn't produce a crash, but it does significantly break immersion and is completely unintuitive.
