Game crashed a while after placing water wheel, unable to rejoin world without crashing instantly

Create is 100% causing the issue, as it specifically names the water wheel as the ticking block entity behind the crash. I saw another open issue saying Optifine and Create didn't work well together, but there was no extra information. Here's the crashlog:

It says you have Optifine installed in the report, at this point I'm pretty confident in saying that this is some Optifine spaghetti screwing up Create's rendering or how everything ticks since that's a common thread between the crash logs.

My friends and I had the exact same issue. Placing the waterwheel would crash some of us immediately or would crash some of us after dying or leaving the server. We would not be able to rejoin the server, we would crash each time, until someone broke the water wheels. My crash log also indicated that the wheel was directly as fault.

I ran some tests. I opened up a singleplayer world with create and without optifine, no crash, even after leaving and rejoining. I opened the same world with optifine installed and there was no immediate crash, but when i left and rejoined, my game crashed as it had before.

Same issue. Getting ticking block entity error. Crashlog says it's a shaft causing it. I'm currently running the latest versions of Optifine and Create on both my client and server, but I tried the previous version of Create as well with no luck. The only way to join is to remove Optifine from my mods folder. I can then join the server with no issues without even having to restart the server.
