Blazing/Gilded Quartz/Shadow tools don't recognize some blocks

In the current 1.2 version, some blocks aren't recognized as being harvestable by the added tools. These include many modded blocks (pickaxes don't recognize Quark's basalt, limestone, and marble), but also some vanilla blocks (axes don't recognize fences).
This issue occurs both with and without any mods installed except Create.

So Create is going to be adding tools, like pickaxes and shovels et al?

I was really hoping this mod would stay focused on the redstone and engineering type stuff, not follow the same path of literally every other tech mod and start adding things outside the scope of "build cool stuff."

Yes, create is adding tools. These were planned a while ago, but unlike other tech mods these are simple tools with small quirks, not tools like fluxbores or The Ender

I mean you can still build cool stuff, the tools are pretty cool utility wise too. plus create has a lot of plans to do other stuff outside of gears and stuff that should fit well together over time if what I hear is correct

plus you can disable the tools I think if needed

That's all really unfortunate to hear. Scope creep is one of my personal biggest pet peeves with the Minecraft modding scene (as an extreme example, the "Rats" mod adding a "Rat Dimension" for some insane reason).

If you're adding tools and things of that nature, my personal opinion is that things of that nature would fit better into a separate mod, and keep the scope of this one focused on what the name implies. Additionally, I don't see a need for yet another set of tools, regardless of their small quirks. There are literally hundreds of other mods that things of that nature.

Relatedly, I don't know if you guys have a different venue for feedback of this nature, but I'd be interested in knowing about it. I adore the way the mod is at the moment, even in its alpha nature, and if I could help influence the direction of it in some way, I'd be in.

Its not so much scope creep, just lots of dev plans that build on top of the current mod. Theres probably a reason the mod is heading into 0.2 instead of 1.2, its not fully finished.
Plus theres also already things in the mod that are not gears and rotation, schematic cannon, that building gun etc.

I will not say theres no creep, theres always a bit of creep in everything

Tdlr: mod not finished, mod will be big and have alot more features designed to augment current features and build into later game things in vanilla and in the mod
