I've got the same problem, even with the wrench and the goggles, I can't see text on chassis and rotational speed controller

i use fast settings but switched to fancy and it still doesn't work. i also use optifine so i tried taking that off but it still doesn't work, every time i scroll it just goes to the next item

Try disable Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering.
