What happened?

{EDIT: THIS PORTION IS INCORRECT. CORRECT PORTION BELOW. for some reason when i generate new chunks in both my singleplayer world and in a shared server, EVERY oak tree is a fruit tree. there are absolutely no regular oak trees anymore. i've been generating new chunks for about a thousand blocks now and have not seen one yet. i am using terralith and it seems to be happening primarily in modded biomes, but i checked and i can't find any mention of this bug even with terralith. thankfully it isn't causing any crash, it's just making the game WAY too easy since there's essentially infinite food just by travelling in any direction.
edit: i have also realized this is only happening to fruits that spawn on oak trees. hopefully this is because the bug is contained to fruits that spawn on oak trees, and not because i'm an idiot and croptopia only spawns fruits on oak trees.}

edit: correct portion here. it turns out that in biomes where oak trees do not spawn the mod seems to have no frame of reference for how MANY fruit trees should be there. instead it puts fruit trees just about everywhere they can spawn, which leads to a severe overabundance of free food if you just keep generating new chunks in modded biomes. it's easily fixed at least temporarily by removing any modded biome from the config and limiting it so fruit trees can ONLY spawn in vanilla biomes (i don't know if this bug also exists in byg or other biome mods, but i removed them too just in case). it can probably be prevented by changing the spawn requirements for fruit trees in modded biomes that don't have oak trees naturally spawn.

for replication, just download bcg's plus modpack, add croptopia + croptopia additions + croptopia fabric seasons compat, and go to a modded biome (in this instance, the steppe biome).
