I have been having this crash regardless of whether your mod in installed or not?
How do you trigger this bug?

It's impossible for the mod to crash if it's uninstalled, so you do have it installed in some manner. Did you check the correct folder when you were verifying the installed mods? If so, and this still seems to occur, please share the crash report for further investigation.
Hello, I'm facing the same issue on the latest version of curious (5.11.0+1.20.1 Forge) here is my crash report if it helps
Ive determined this was caused by https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/brb
@Aceplante that's for version 1.21 I suppose, in version 1.20.1 (I'm an idiot and thought this was for 1.21...) I don't have that mod installed, maybe the closer one would be nerb https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/notenoughrecipebook. I haven't had time to recreate
Edit: Tbh, after checking this issue I understood that is not the same thing, I'm going to open a new issue. Mine has to do with the last version presenting the error above, but I do have the mod installed
