A simple preview or a full out test button would be nice to see what the loading screen would look like.
This is pretty straight forward as you can just create a fake texture pack with nothing inside then enable and disable it showing the screen twice just to confirm that everything is right and it is exactly how you want it. I think that the preview would be nicer though.
