Might be out of the scope of this mod, since it's only meant to fix the damage tilt. But there's plenty other things broken for the exact same reason damage tilt was, which could maybe be fixed by companion mods. There's a dedicated wiki page for such things now (https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Java_Edition_12w18a/List_of_broken_features), but here's a small selection of ones mods could bring back:

• Ghast animation: In 12w17a and prior, ghasts would visually expand while shooting fireballs. This no longer happens in 12w18a and beyond.
• Missing particles: while most of these were fixed in 19w14a, there remain two cases which broke in 12w18a and are yet to return: building iron golems, which created snowball particles, and building snow golems, which created snowflake particles. Building withers was also meant to create snowball particles, but this was never visible due to them being added after 12w18a. In 17w47a and beyond, building these creates block breaking particles, but these are unrelated, and the old particles are yet to return. While also not a 1.3 bug, 1.9 broke another case of particles: when an animal is in love mode, it would constantly emit heart particles, but this stopped happening for what yet again seems to be a server issue.
