after mixing 500mb of mercury with 500mb of brine in a basin under the dynamo, getting the amalgam and putting it in a mixer, the final amount of mercury is smaller than the one you begin with.

if you want to replicate, just do the normal procedure to obtain sodium metal without a vat, that is with a dynamo and mixer.

I expected Lavoisier to be correct.
