Dimensional Rifts Feature?

I am using your mod for my Modpack "Dimension Zero" since it fits perfectly with the theme of “Dimensional breakdown that causes rifts to open like nether or end portals and (your jittering black rifts) for example”
And a player brought it to me that adding the following feature would fit perfectly with the story and the gameplay and I was immediately enticed by it.

  • So I wanted to ask if there is a chance you will add in the option in the configs to turn it on that these jittering black rifts (in my pack they have a higher chance to appear in clusters Momentarily just story based ambient.) cause monsters to spawn until they are removed? Possibly more the larger the rift gets.

  • Or that they can occasionally appear in loaded chunks/near players? (Rarely/or with a limit to not fill everything up).

Not the gateways with the stone frame only the jittering black rifts.

Or is that not possible?

Do the Rift cores have some sort of block id? Or something likes that, since you can’t place any other block on them I presume they act as a block! If I could figure that out I could for now make it act like a spawner by setting certain mobs to spawn near specific blocks (the rift cores) with another mod so that they will spawn mobs until the rift core is closed.

Only a guess while investing the source, but the id for a floating rift should be dimdoors.rift as set here.

Are you guys sitting on this mod? One of the most simple features was endermen spawning from the unstable rifts and causing issues, otherwise these rifts are just visually displeasing, serving no danger.

Please add this soon, I was disappointed when I found out the rifts do nothing, I was planning on using them to get ender pearls and told my wife all about it, who is also disappointed.

The last time this mod had an update released was a year ago, and at that time you guys were on it, January, February, April, May then poof you're gone...

Edit: I see you guys have been committing, I'm sorry for seeming rude if I did, I just really love this mod..

The first thing is not only possible. It's planned. Originally, these Rift Scars spawned Ender Men, and we plan to re-add this functionality.
There is also this idea.

It is also planned that these Rift Scars generate other Rift Scars around them up to a certain limit when the area is "saturated." I personally do not like the idea of having them generate in completely random places, but perhaps it could be combined with this idea that is quite alike Thaumcraft's Warp. I.e. If you have a high "tangle" value, these Rift Scars can generate in your general vicinity.

Nice i hope you get it working.
But only enderman spawning would be a bit one sided is it possible to configure what mobs can spawn? with a whitelist or something this way it could spawn mobs from other mods or other dimensions to.
