Issue Description:

I tried using this mod alone for 1.16.4 (most recent mod update) but the Dog Bed isn't getting linked to the dog. So to ensure you that I followed the steps, I already used the basic Dog Treat to turn the dog into a Dog from the "Doggy Talents" mod.

Then, I decided to make a bed for it because I read in your description that if it died, I can revive my dog on that bed that was linked to the dog. I shift-left-clicked (and also tried shift-right-clicked) on the dog and did the same on the Dog Bed. Afterwards, during my adventure, my Dog from Doggy Talents died so I calmed down and went back home to click his bed to respawn my dog there. But when I did that, nothing happened.

Steps to reproduce:

1. I made a new World with only the "Doggy Talents" mod installed
2. Created a new world and made a dog from "Doggy Talents" by using the dog emblem
3. Placed down the dog bed and follow the prompt
4. I killed my own dog to try the Dog Bed, but it's still now working it didn't respawn

Oh make sure you take the other dogs far away from the beds, leaving only the dog you want to bind and you near it. Because if you shift+click when other dogs are there, the one who targets the bed is decided randomly (or the first one being or doing something ....... i gotta check the code XD ) WITHOUT regards to neither whether they are sitting or not nor whether they owned a bed or not (if they have a bed they will override it with the new bed if bound) and if the dog who is targetting is currently sitting it will locks there until the dog who is sitting stands up and claim the bed.

I have this same issue, no dogs will bind to beds., shift clicking and shift clicking dont work. working with quite alot of other mods in this mod pack, but this lack of revive makes doggy talents unusable, to dangerous.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to create this issue and I'm sorry I didn't get round to resolving it. I've not worked on this project for a while and have decided to archive the git repository. Fear not, there is a fork https://github.com/DashieDev/DoggyTalentsNext which might be of interest. I don't expect to be back within the Minecraft community so farewell and happy mining!

First of all, this is an excellent mod!
I have the same issue though. Tried creating a bed multiple times, with multiple versions of the mod prior to the last one. Tried multiple combinations of shift-clicking on bed, on a dog, on air and nothing happens. Regular right click on bed gives the instructions.
My dog died and it did not respawn (multiple dogs), even after clicking on the bed.

The same thing is happening to me

It worked for me though .

Firstly, it should be considered that the dog must be near the bed when you shift-click on the bed.
Both your offhand and mainhand should be emptied.
You can know that the dog is binded to the bed by noticing him/her siting on the bed (while you shift + right-clicking the bed) with a heart animation.
You can double-check if he/she is linked by right-clicking the bed again, it should say "This bed is owned by : YourDogName"

If your dog do die and you lost the bed, you can use the /dog revive command (worked in 2.0.1.8) , provided that you have access to commands, make sure to name your dog specifically for the auto-complete mechanism to list your dogs' name who are at death. If your dog name have any special characters like blank spaces or symbols, you can surround the string with quotes.
Just luckily discovered the command when playing around with the nbt data of the dogs by Minecraft auto-suggesting the dog command when i am trying to type /data XD
