Question: Do pets respawn if no bed has been assigned or was broken?

So I accidentally broke the bed to which my pet was assigned and then my poor puppy died...(stupid creeper).

Will she respawn somewhere? (at spawn?) Or is she now just gone for good?

The pets are gone for good.
