So I was traveling quite far and I think my pet may have fallen off a cliff at some point and ended up in the recall orb. Problem is that I have no idea where and they don't seem to be showing up at the wayward lantern either.

This apears to have actually been an odd server issue. Breaking and replacing the wayward lantern brought them back almost immediately.
