The door model looks like its is flipping when open (not rotating on hinges)

i've olso seen it have the doorknob where the hinge should be, and vice versa

Possibly related, this seems to ignore the hinge block state. I just placed these (using the materials I had; not saying cyan brick extra usually makes good doors); the one on the left has hinge: left and the one on the right has hinge: right, yet they render the same.

It is known, but mojang changed the model format for doors under our buts, and so we are waiting for new model files
