So I noticed a couple of things wrong with the brown brick stairs that make them look out of place. First, normal Minecraft brick stairs have the individual bricks oriented the same way no matter which way the stairs face. The brown bricks change the orientation. Here is a screenshot that hopefully explains it better:

Second, the stairs texture is incorrectly offset in the block model. Here's another screenshot.
