Read my last comment on the thread. This is an issue with FTBQuests somehow looking up textures that don't exist. If you, or someone else, backports a fix and PRs it, I can release a version with a fix. Otherwise, I will not be fixing this on 1.18.2.

As an alternative fix: go into the Excavated Variants configs, and set the texture count variable of every stone/ore to exactly the number of distinct textures that stone/ore has. That should prevent the crash, in theory.
