[BUG] Resource and mod incompatibility (Resolved, but here for the record)

Describe the bug
Whilst fiddling around with DAG on my modpack to find a solution to extremely long booting times for the entirety of MC, I discovered that the CTM mod (connected textures, https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/ctm) increases loading times to an extraordinary degree. Disabling CTM via Curseforge still generates the same error I've been receiving, but MC at its longest (2gb for 200 or so mods) took 200 seconds. Most often this was less time than that to load. This was in comparison to, 15+ minutes and extremely slow logs.

The error itself has been reported before, but I'll state it again regardless. That and there is a difference, because the first is a warning and the second is an error that repeats for every ore variant I can find. Disabling CTM also does not fix the error, it just speeds up the booting process.
Supplied images for extraction contained few differing colors; attempting clustering color extraction.

This is followed by an error, the only difference being that all the ores from it are from the excavated variants mod. Disabling excavated variants and DAG fixes it because it simply doesn't run through the textures. Looking back over though, I suspect this is a resource pack error but I can't be sure with what.

To Reproduce
Extreme Loading Times:
Install CTM
Run MC
See Problem

Expected behavior
Boot up quickly, rather than taking ages.

Version:

  • Forge
  • 1.19.2

Additional context
Another thing, I do use shaders. However, this set of shaders and mods have never caused a problem before, further implying it's a resource pack issue. I don't know what resource pack because the major one that doesn't cause a problem is still there, and the others only change extras like GUI, the sky, sun and the moon.
The only other thing it could be is incompatibility with Fantasy Ores, but even with modded support it doesn't support excavated variants, at least as I am aware. It should only change vanilla textures and the specified modded types.

Edit: I posted this regardless, but I was right about the whole resource pack guess. It was Fantasy Ores, but I thought you should keep this for the record.

Also, the reason I kept this open is so you see it because idk how github really works in the notification sense.

Is this still the case on an actively updated version, such as 1.20.1?

I'll have a look at the next possible chance.

For some reason, I now can't replicate this issue. I can't actually test what it was on 1.20 and above.

Hmm, weird. I'm going to close this for now as versions that old are not maintained, so I wouldn't really release a fix for it, and because there's a fair chance that some fix merged since then now circumvents this - however, I'll poke around and see if I can figure out the cause, just to be safe
