Transparent pixels are too opaque

Related to #31.

Using 1.7.10 and Ears 1.4.5_01. Transparent pixels on the skin overlay layer are incorrectly rendered as almost fully opaque, other than the ones on the head, which look correct.

I compared the last few versions against ears-fabric-1.17-1.4.5_01 on 1.18, which revealed the following timeline: they rendered correctly in 1.4.2, then they became a bit more opaque than they should be in 1.4.3, then in 1.4.5 they became almost fully opaque.

Do you have other mods installed? I would expect this to happen if you accidentally have two skin backports installed. The version difference may be due to depth test/mask changes.

It's also possible Ears itself is somehow winding up rendering the layers twice.

Nope, these are clean instances with only Ears installed.

This is likely related to the emissive skin implementation.
