I Can't Use Custom Skins Using URLs or Skins I've Added Into Skin Files In The Configs FIles

Is There A Reason When I add In Custom Skins, I Can't Select Them And Have Them Be Used By The NPC? The Default Skins Still
Work, It's Only Custom Skins That Don't
P.S. The Mod Is Awesome And I Can't Wait To See What Things/Updates You Add In!!
Customs kinds could be only used in creative or with a higher op level.
The settings could be adjusted in the config file, to allow custom skins in adventure mode as well.
If you have a difference issue, please provide more details and some screenshots. Thanks.
Hi. I installed these Mod for my 1.19.2 Singleplayer. I play in creative and wan't to use custom skins. I put new folders to the skin folder but I can't use any skin in game. There are no skins to see or use. I set the level in the config to admin too, but it dos'nt work.

I use skins from https://www.minecraftskins.com/. I used these skins at version 1.16.5 with the Custom NPC Mod an I renamed all thes skins without numbers ore other signs.
I hope, the logfile is the right. I only found these file and I never must before search for a logfile. So if you need other files, please let me know, where can I them please.

Could you please share a screenshot of the folder with the skins and maybe a link to one of these skins.
It could be that some of the 1.16.5 skins are not compatible with 1.18.x and higher.
I didn't found one of the exact skins, but I hope, these skin can help you too:

Okay, I put the skins now in both folder HUMANOID and HUMANOID_SLIM and I can see the skins now for both NPCs, but I can't choose one of them. If I use my own skin at Spieler (player), I can choose these skin.

Thanks for the screenshot and the example.
Please make sure to put the skins in the existing folders like HUMANOID_SLIM for skins with the slim model and not in new folders.
According your screenshot the HUMANOID_SLIM folder only includes the basic file, so that's the reason why you skin selection for "Humanoid (schlank)" only shows the example file.
Also der default Skin ist auch nicht anwählbar. Das mit dem Link hatte ich vorhin getestet, das wollte auch nicht funktionieren. Lediglich wenn ich meinen eigenen Skin abrufe, ist dieser auswählbar und wird auch sofort übernommen.
Ich hoffe, die Logs sind brauchbar.
Und falls es einfacher ist, können wir auch gerne auf deutsch schreiben. Sehe gerade, das deine Heimat auch Deutschland ist ;)
Super das die Skins nun sichtbar sind.
Probiere mal bitte folgendes aus:
- Wähle bitte den "default" (bunten) Benutzerdefinierten Skin aus, ob dieser funktioniert ?
- Wähle bitte mal einen deiner Skin aus, beende das Level (zum Hauptmenu) und lade das Level neu.
Falls der Skin dann immer noch nicht sichtbar ist, brauch ich wieder das Logfile (von vor der Auswahl und ein paar Sekunden danach im Spiel wenn der Bildschirm geschlossen ist), um zu sehen woran es evtl. liegt.
Eigentlich verwendet die Preview (wo die Skins ja sichtbar sind) und die eigentlichen Figuren den selben Code.
Sprich evtl. erscheint etwas im Logfile warum es nicht geht oder es hängt evtl. mit einen anderen Mod zusammen der auch Skins anpasst.
Ich werde das aber auch im nächsten Update verbessern (damit klar ist, wo die Skins hin müssen) und weitere Prüfungen hinzufügen.
Alternative kannst du auch versuchen die URL direkt zu verwenden über den "Spieler" Tab.

Habe gerade einen Bug gefunden der sich mit einen der letzten Updates eingeschlichen hat und hierfür verantwortlich ist.
Werde an einen Patch hierfür arbeiten der dann morgen (Montag) Abend online sein sollte.
