Why would you want to access the villagers inventory?

there are lots of reason, give them exact amounts of something for one. if they are loose in the world take what they have harvested. Give them the seeds you want them to have rather than the ones that they have randomly picked up. you can add dirt to the 6 slots and only allow seeds tricking them into only having seeds in their inventory.

there is an abandoned project from 1.12 https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/villager-inventory-viewer I dont care if they drop their stuff on death but you can see its just the invintory of the villager..

Don't get me wrong I love the functionality that you have added to them thus far. I do think that adding this would make it just that much better.

I see no real use for it, since the inventory is not required when having all tools of the mod.
It is also not possible in vanilla, so I don't think I'm gonna add it to the mod.
